The Art of Crafting a Signature Scent

Creating a signature scent is part art, part science, and entirely driven by emotion. At Eight Elixir, our perfumers begin with inspiration — a vivid memory, a place, or even a mood. From there, the journey of transformation begins.

We start by exploring raw ingredients, both classic and exotic. Think Moroccan rose, Indian sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla, Sicilian lemon. Each has its own olfactory profile and personality. We use natural essential oils wherever possible, and every synthetic used is carefully selected for ethical sourcing and safety.

The first phase involves the development of accords — small compositions of scents that represent the mood we want to capture. These are then layered to form the fragrance pyramid:

• Top notes are your first impression — often citrusy, fresh, and light.
• Heart notes are the soul of the fragrance — floral, fruity, or spicy.
• Base notes linger the longest — deep woods, musks, resins.

Each formulation goes through months of testing, adjusting, and aging. We assess how it wears on skin over hours and days, how it behaves in different climates, and how the blend matures over time.

Once perfected, we bottle the fragrance in glass vessels designed to reflect both simplicity and sophistication. Everything, from label design to box texture, is crafted to complete the sensory story.
